Week 3 on this journey, and I cannot explain how good my body feels. I am two sizes down, but I cheated. Not that bad, but it was a cheat.

So how can we have a better time with our HCG weight loss with less hunger and cravings?

WE CHEAT BY CHOICE NOT BY CHANCE!

Food for me is comfort and I love all different kinds of food, so this hurdle that will always prove my will power. Cheats happen and sometimes you can’t help it. If you are on vacation or at a business dinner, but what I have learned is that you can at least make the healthier choices at restaurants or stow some things away in your purse.

But what happens when you cheat. Well, guess what, thank God that it didn’t effect my pounds or inches because I have been on this diet for a few weeks now and my body’s metabolism was working good. However, it’s not the body but my mind that I had a setback on. I trained my mind so long to accept the clean foods that when I gave into the unhealthy ones like ice cream and chips even though I only had one scoop or 10 chips, my cravings became stronger and stronger. And the next day when I saw those chips, I wanted them again and in my mind I actually heard myself say well only a few didn’t hurt. Once you cheat, it’s easier to do it again. But let me tell you, having to retrain your brain and fight that craving is not worth it.

One cheat meal won’t make you fat, just like one clean meal won't make you lean. If you CHEAT, you’re only CHEATING YOURSELF. You’ve got to practice self-discipline to stick with it. It’s all worth it.

The girls at Katy Wellness Center are great because they didn’t scold me for cheating, but they are great motivational support that helped me back on track. They explained what my body was telling me and that because I noticed the signs, this was a good lesson for me when I get off injections. Because it’s those signs that our body is telling us that we need to listen to.

SAFE MINI-CHEATS THAT YOU CAN DO!

First, Be a Label Reader!!!

What I do when I get hunger pains? #1 and Lemon Chill Sno-Cones (See Recipes)!!!!!

Here is a list of some safe cheats that I have looked up that are HCG Diet Approved!

  1. PICKLES!!! – Cucumbers and Vinegar are approved, but watch the ones with a lot of sugar. Don’t get pickles with sugar or high fructose corn syrup.
  2. Water – drink at least half your body weight in ounces, carry your bottle with you, and sip do not chug it (200lb person should drink 100 ounces a day)
  3. Tea – any tea you want (peppermint, black tea, green tea, or ginger lemon turmeric tea)
  4. Peppermint – curbs your appetite
  5. Greens – Use all 3 or any mix for a great salad (Spinach, Lettuce, Romaine etc.)
    • Skinnygirl Fat Free / Sugar Free Dressing Balsamic Vinaigrette (2 tbsp: 10 Calories, 1 Carb, Vitamin C 4%, 0 Sugar, Sodium 90mg)
  6. Chicken Bullion or Chicken and Beef Broths – very few calories, great taste
    • Don’t be afraid of these. The ones I use are Swanson Chicken 33% or Beef 50% Less Sodium Gluten Free, Non-GMO, 100% Natural, No Preservatives or artificial flavors, and No MSG Added (1 Cup: 15 Calories, 1 Carb, 2 Protein, 0 Sugar, Sodium 570mg or 410mg)
  7. Beef Jerky – great for protein consumption
    • Pros: good protein vs. carb ratio
    • Cons: No gas station look at the labels
  8. Apples – Good to tote and great go-to cheat
    • No insulin spike
    • Low on glycemic index
    • Very convenient
  9. Tomatoes – add to salad
  10. Celery – Negative Calorie Food because it takes more to digest than it provides
    • Con: Can’t eat with peanut butter! Peanut Butter is a NO-NO!

Goals: Now Enjoying Chicken, so use crockpot recipes! Cheat Safe if I must!!!

Tips:

Curbing hunger pains with SAFE Mini-Cheats! And hot teas! Read the Labels.

Results: 3 more pounds down!!! NOW 221!
